Kyle Jobes

20 years of service

Kyle’s success story with Mechanical Systems, Inc. started many many years ago when he worked as a pipe layer first then an equipment operator in the Utilities operations.  Always curious and driven to learn more, Kyle joined the plumbing apprenticeship program and became a Journeyman Plumber.  Kyle enjoys working with the guys in the field and building piping/mechanical systems for all types of customers regardless of the complexity of the job.

Outside of work, Kyle enjoys spending time with his beautiful wife and kids enjoying the great outdoors of Wyoming and neighboring states. 

Travis Johnson

1 year of service

Born and raised in Cheyenne, Travis attended Colorado State University and earned his bachelor’s degree in Construction Management with a minor in Business Administration. He then worked for a large general contractor for over 14 years as a Project Superintendent, gaining invaluable experience on many complex commercial projects throughout Colorado and Wyoming in many sectors from industrial to healthcare to multi family and beyond. With a growing family, Travis decided to make Cheyenne permanent and joined MSI’s site utilities division as a Project Manager/Estimator in 2022. His role here involves just about everything, whether it be jumping in to lend a hand in the field where needed, meeting with contractors and clients to discuss project needs, or preconstruction planning and estimating. Travis has his OSHA 30 hour certification and is working toward a Class A contractor license as well.

Travis loves spending time with his wife and two daughters enjoying everything Wyoming has to offer, whether it be hanging at the lake in the summer, mountain biking, hunting, fishing, or snowmobiling in the winter. Travis is eager to help wherever needed and is thoroughly enjoying working on such a diverse multitude of projects with a group of like minded, hard working folks at MSI!

Lane Spencer

2 years of service

Born and raised in Cheyenne, Lane graduated from the University of Wyoming in 2012 with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management. Upon graduating he went on to work his way through the ranks for a mechanical contractor based in Denver, CO and after nine years of service decided to get back to his roots in Wyoming!

Lane’s prior experience in all facets of the mechanical industry serves him well as our new Purchasing Manager, including his completion of several MEP Alliance courses such as Project Management I & II and Construction, Design & Service Leadership, to name a few.

Outside of work he enjoys playing sports, poker, hiking with his dog, hunting, fishing and everything outdoors! He looks forward to getting involved with the Wyoming Young Contractors Coalition and other community functions while striving for success in his role with MSI!

 

Levi Wann

17 years of service

After working in several different fields and professions, Levi finally landed in the Plumbing field at age 22 and found his niche. He worked for 2 different plumbing companies before finding MSI in 2006 at age 24.

For Levi, working at Mechanical Systems, Inc. over the past 17 years has been rewarding and fulfilling in many ways. There are always new challenges to over come as well as new things to learn.

The best thing about working here is the people both within the company as well as the excellent contractors we work along with.

Levi’s interests/hobbies are golfing, mountain biking, hiking and camping to name a few.

Craig Goble

25 years of service

Born in Laredo and raised in southern Texas, Craig has called Wyoming home since 1998. After attending Laramie County Community College, Craig began his career with Mechanical Systems, Inc. as an equipment operator and quickly worked his way up to his current position as a VP-Utilities Operations. In his current role, Craig is responsible for all site utility field operations, including manpower, scheduling, and heavy equipment allocation. It seems that Craig’s plate is never quite full enough, and his positive approach and “get ‘er done” attitude are indicative of his cowboy lifestyle. Craig loves Wyoming’s western way of life, and in his spare time, he enjoys hunting, fishing, and anything horse related.

Mike Sara

30 years of service

Mike, a licensed master plumber/pipefitter, is a 30-year veteran with Mechanical Systems, Inc. and has more than 25 years of project supervision experience. He manages all mechanical field activities including manpower acquisition and supervision, scheduling and project layout, and he works closely with the project managers and purchasing department to coordinate material procurement. He also facilitates on-site coordination with our subcontractors. In addition to being a certified welder, Mike holds multiple industry certifications and has completed hours of training on boilers, pumps, and piping systems of all types.

 

Mike’s big heart and talent for mentoring young people is a great asset for him in supervising our very successful apprenticeship training program. He enjoys hunting, camping, and following his son’s hockey.

Gregg L. Moon, Mechanical Engineer

7 years of service

Gregg joined Mechanical Systems, Inc. in 2016, bringing with him a degree in Architectural Engineering from the University of Wyoming and 22 years of experience as a consulting mechanical engineer. Gregg is a LEED-Accredited Professional who loves the “people” side of the business (especially when that includes a happy owner) and he takes great satisfaction in seeing a project through to completion. When Gregg isn’t visiting family in his hometown of Rock Springs, Wyoming, you’ll probably find him taking part in a fishing tournament or sitting on a mountaintop watching wildlife.

Larry Fodor

15 years of service

Originally from Phoenix, Arizona, Larry earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management from Northern Arizona University and acquired extensive construction experience before making his home here in Wyoming. In addition to Larry’s duties as a project manager, he coordinates job staffing, manpower scheduling, and is in charge of safety and compliance. Larry holds many safety and industry certifications, including LEED accreditation and OSHA 30-Hour Training. Larry’s attention to detail and willingness to get involved has made him an invaluable asset in the formation of Mechanical Systems, Inc.’s apprenticeship program. He is a former chairman for the Wyoming Young Contractors Association and a current member of the Cheyenne Frontier Days Grounds Committee. Larry loves Wyoming for its hospitality and the great outdoors, especially summer days at the lake.

 

Larry’s favorite part of his job is being able to complete projects that result in a satisfied client and a happy team.

Paul Steed

17 years of service

Paul hails from Sandy, Utah, where he spent 18 years cutting his construction teeth at his family’s utility construction company. It was a lucky day for Mechanical Systems, Inc., when Paul headed east and stopped for gas in Cheyenne; his work ethic and company loyalty have made him a perfect fit. Paul is an expert on “all things dirt,” and he has full responsibility for all site utility estimating and project management. He loves family, music, and church, not to mention the clean air and friendly people in Wyoming. He is also an active member of the Wyoming Young Contractors Association.

 

Paul says he loves the large variety of projects he gets to work on, and the awesome bosses and great people he gets to work with on those projects.

Matt Thomas

24 years of service

After graduating from the University of Wyoming in 1996, Matt started his career with the Wyoming State Engineer’s Office. He then spent two years with Peter Kiewit before joining Mechanical Systems, Inc. in 1999. Over the past 24 years with Mechanical Systems, Inc., Matt has worked in all phases of the business and currently manages all mechanical estimating and preconstruction services. Matt is a current board member of the Wyoming Construction Coalition and serves as the Assistant Arena Director for Cheyenne Frontier Days. His appreciation of Wyoming’s small population, stunning scenery, easy access to the great outdoors, and the general mindset of the west serve him well as he pursues his love of ropin’ and ridin’ in his spare time.
